Shaping the Fantasy

In order to really get the right image, I decided to create final face chart onto the face and make changes during the shooting process until I had my final image.

MAKEUP

I started with a completely clean skin by using cleansers and toners to remove and excess dirty, grease or makeup from the face and chest. 

Using Illamasqua's Satin Primer, I prepped the face. My next step was created the perfect base.

I added a few dabs of rich liquid foundation in white on the T-zone, cheeks and on top of the cheekbones and the chin. I then used a mixing palette and created a light blue foundation. I added this around the forehead, below the cheekbones and then blended the two together.

I added white foundation on to the chest in a V shape to highlight the collar bones and to her a saintly appearance. I then added the blue foundation around the shoulders, arms and chest and blended again.

Using Illamasqua's powder eye shadow the heavily contour the face, chest and collar bones to create a statue like sculpted appearance.

Using the yellow eye shadow, I covered the eyelids and shaded around the shape of the eye bringing it down slightly with the contour on the nose.

Bronze liquid metal was used as a slight contour down the nose also and as a highlight for the cheekbones and collar bones.

I used illamasqua's blue pencil along the waterline of the eye to make the eyes pop subtly. 

I used the liquid metal again all over the lips and added a few dabs of yellow eye shadow in the center of the mouth. I shaded around the mouth with the blue eye shadow to bring the shape out.

HAIR

I brushed the hair out away from the face and covered it on fullers earth mixed with water to create the cracked and statue like effect. After leaving it to dry for a few minutes and using a hair dryer to speed up the process, I then covered the hair in liquid metal for the bronzed colour and added a plait at the back of the hair.

I also used the fullers earth on the skin, up the arm and the side of the face to the hairline to connect the hair and makeup. 

I pinned in a rosary bead necklace to add to the saint look.

HANDS AND NAILS

I painted the nails in yellow and used liquid metal to add bronze tips to them. The inside of the hand is all painted in liquid metal to portray the dirty look and the arm was coloured in blue foundation. I used an eye shadow in blue to give more depth and shading the the arm and the hand.

THE DEVELOPMENT

When under the lights in the studio, the makeup can change and subtle contouring or shading can disappear. These images above show how I added colours and more makeup to finally create the kind of lips I was wanting for the final look.

I changed the hair a few times to see what kind of style would suit the makeup better, what textures and colours I could play with. Here are six of the different colours and styles I decided to play with during the shoot.
